I finally watched the movie. What did I think about it? It was pretty good. School date was really well made and despite me knowing what will happen it still was tense. I liked the 1:1 of memorable manga panels/spreads and the music. Reze's bomb sfx were really good too but unfortunatelly, whether it was the case of the audio system in the theatre being dogshit or the movie being mixed badly, I couldnt hear most dialogues and music whenever they went off. Also the fight against Reze felt unintelligible with so many cuts and bright colors, but it will probably be fine when I'll be watching the blu rays and be able to pause and rewind. Overall 8/10 way better than the anime tv series.

Very little character development in more chapters than all of part 1, very chizophrenic character writing with constant retracing steps and undoing previous progression, distinct lack of direction and momentum that part 1 had, side characters introduced in this part aren't utilised enough, character motivations are still unclear and ambiguous this late into the story (what the fuck was Yoshida doing all this time?), entire arcs that feel ultimately pointless (regardless of my enjoyment), unceremonious deaths for characters with the potential to do more, poor and sometimes sloppy artwork, and uninspired art direction and panelling compared to part 1.
These are part 2's flaws. A lot of the strengths it has, and the reason why I haven't given it a 3/10, are the aspects that carry over from part 1. The world and lore is still interesting, the main characters are still likeable, it is quite funny at times, and the story is unpredictable. I like Asa and Yoru, I like Denji, I liked Nayuta and I like the horsefus. It's enough to keep me reading. More importantly than anything though, the experience of reading it with so many other invested people make the train wreck all the more entertaining. I still think it can be better than just 'alright' if Fuji manages to stick the landing, but I don't have high hopes.
I'd give part 1 a 9/10, maybe a 10/10 depending on how I'm feeling.

I don't think a single character in part 2 has received a satisfactory conclusion, and part 2 is already nearing its end.What characters are left are all non-characters who are plot devices, e.g., Fumiko, Famine, and Death. Now that I think about it, basically every single part 2 character besides Denji and Asa is/was a plot device, and the common trend seems to be promptly killing them off as soon as they've served their purpose or lazily writing them out of the picture, so there's absolutely no point in getting attached to any character that's not Denji or Asa because they'll never be given any meaningful development, lol. This makes the world feel incredibly small and one-dimensional. CSM was always very character-focused, which masked the lack of worldbuilding, so to essentially eliminate all these characters unceremoniously is quite jarring to me. Part 1 also had plot device characters like this, Himeno and Violence, for instance, but their deaths had an impact on other characters, inspiring them with deep introspection. Now every character is either a Himeno or a Violence, but there's no lasting impact when they die. This has made me completely desensitized to what's happening in the story because, to be frank, Denji and Asa just aren't very interesting characters. In fact, they're poorly written, and that's partly because the pacing is horrendous in Part 2. There's barely any downtime, and when there is, it isn't utilized properly; it's usually just panel time for gags.

I personally find it unconvicing, but that's mostly because of the poor writing. I don't see anything wrong of the characters themselves, Fujimoto clearly made Asa to parallel Denji in pt 1.

It's the quintessential, genre-defining early 00s harem manga. Everything for ten years after (i.e., till 2011) was ripping it off in different ways. Expect endless faffing about and completely nonsensical drama that gets resolved and recycled again and again. Still, it's remembered fondly for a reason.
I'd also recommend Ai Kora, it's quite funny, but not very serious. It's by the Midori no Hibi guy (which is also a good romcom about a guy whose hand turns into a girl).

Power had an unrequited love for Denji that she only realised too late, and regardless she never had the human social awareness to do anything with those feelings anyway. Her being clingy with Denji after Darkness, and more specifically, her laying in bed with him and having him drink her blood made it obvious that she liked him more than in the familial sense, meanwhile Denji's monolgue paints a different picture, and he either seems unaware of Power's feelings or simply doesn't care given his state of mind at the time.
Redditors will tell you they are hecking wholesome siblings but they are delibrately ignoring these intimate scenes towards the end of their relationship together for... some reason? I don't get it. These are the same people that will never get Fire Punch because they're too hung up on Agni wanting to fuck his sister (and not all the other shit). Power's affection is especially important because it makes her scarifice for Denji at the end all the more tragic.
