AI is fucking scary, man.

They can do deepfake face swapping in real time.

How the fuck do I know the girl I'm chatting to online is real?

Cause obviously asking them to send a video of them touching their nose is not enough.

They can fake that too.

How do I tell what's real and what's fake?

The fuck?

Ask them to FaceTime with their microphone. Have them sing 'la li lu le lo'. AI can't do that. They always fuck up the tone. The voice will have this distortion or reverb to it.

And for video, you can know it's an AI by watching neck movements. The neck doesn't move as the body/head moves. Also the blinking has ghosting/after imaging issues.

the best answer is: look for a woman in real life and never e-date, or else your e-gf will be a scammer or an AI. under no circumstances can you date on the internet, your life will be fucked up a lot.

If they post a real video of a girl they stole, would asking them to post another video of them in that same environment, interacting with random objects and stuff, prove anything?

why? do you ever have a crystal ball to affirm that? occasionally you will get a woman for yourself, not just because you exist that all women worldwide hate you. although i've never dated in my entire life irl, i may have a chance to get a girlfriend too, but i'm honestly taking a break from relationships.

Why does any of that matter, other than for the usual "my mom is in a hospital, pls send $4000" scam? It's already easy to manipulate people without AI, it's just easier to create fakes.

Cause I don't want to spend two weeks of my precious time talking to some fucking catfish?

Two weeks of my time getting emotionally involved with someone that doesn't exist?

Time is fucking valuable and I don't have much of it left.

You realize it's a lot more complicated than that, right? They don't just outright, beg you for money. No, they spend weeks, MONTHS, talking to you to build your trust.

I... don't...have...time...for...that....

All success in the 2020s involves getting as far offline as possible, as fast as humanly possible.
This isn't the dotcom era or 2010 or anything like that; times have changed.
Look into dead internet theory and how most of social media is corporate/government AI bots.
For example, there's almost no humans left on Facebook from my HS graduating class, but "traffic" and "ad sales" only go up, amirite?

I use social media marketing, particularly in Facebook.
Its highly effective and it isnt bots calling my wife to make appointments after seeing Facebook ads.

Like yeah there's a lot of bots but dead internet theory is a step way, way too far.

ask them to meet up for a real-life normal-ass date?

If you're falling for the e-girlfriend or LDR meme, that's your problem and even if it weren't for AI you would've still been potentially been catfishes or scammed the old fashioned way

but yeah AI is nothing but shit. If you have like a handful of pictures, 30 seconds of audio & video of yourself anywhere on the internet then your identity gets stolen.

So I guess the only way to truly know is to demand to meet them in person.

That is, until the year 2090, when fully believable prosthetic bodies become a thing and we're living in a ghost in the shell universe where anyone can be anybody. Then we're truly fucked.

Not to add to the paranoia, but some scammers hire models to go video-chat with victims.

Oh god, shit. That's just the worst. I always thought about that, and how asking them to do shit on camera would just be absolutely pointless. Cause they're a real person. Albeit an actor.

I literally have no defense against that. I mean obviously I'm never giving a stranger my money. But they can have a hell of an easy ride stealing my time.

Fuck...

I believe the term for these types of high effort long term scams is "pig butchering scam", so go look those up if you want.
But the good news is that unless you're some bank CEO I'm not sure they wouldn't bother playing the long game with you.
>I mean obviously I'm never giving a stranger my money
I'd expand that to not clicking on stranger's links. The version of the scam I've seen is where your "friend" will rope you into a conversation about investing or crypto or whatever, recommend you some app/site to do it and send you a link to a fake version of that site that.
I'd say the easiest red flag to spot is how you got to know each other. The one I'm constantly being targeted by is some random hot chick texting me. pretending "she" got the wrong number and instead of fucking off once I say it's the wrong number (like a real person would) sticking around and trying to become friends. Most of those accounts end up being deleted or change name and profile pic within a month or so.
Other that I guess you could ask yourself how "authentic" the relationship feel, but I'm too autistic to give advice on that

Well, I encountered one of these pieces of shits right here on /soc/. It wasn't months or anything, but a whole week I thought I was talking to a real woman.

They pretended to be some college student. And then on the seventh day, all of a sudden, they wanted to come visit me, but they needed me to pay for part of their bus ticket.

That's when I knew, oh fucking shit, this was a scam. I didn't want to believe it. I thought they were gonna pay for the whole ticket themselves, but they basically wanted me to pay it all.

At that point, I was like fuck it. I demanded they show their face. I tried video calling them, and after multiple tries the call went through and they sounded like a middle aged vietnamese woman instead of the white american college girl they said they were. And they had the camera covered so I couldn't see them. Then they quickly ended the call.

Man, a whole week, I got emotionally invested believing this shit was a real woman.

That's what I'm afraid of. I cannot waste even a week of my precious time on these fuckers.

Why would anyone bother to make an AI girl and talk to you ..?

If you're on a dating app, set up a date asap and go from there

If it's not a dating app, and you're talking to random girls online with no intention of meeting them, ask yourself why? And then stop forever, because that's fucking retarded
