It seems like such a stupid question for them to ask, cause then they base my whole identity on a stupid piece of land that doesn't mean anything.

I once told someone where I was born, which isn't the country I am currently a citizen of, and everytime since, the motherfucker justs keeps on talking about that country and associating me with it and stuff about it, and the people there as "your (my) people" when I haven't been in the motherfucking place since I was 10...

I'm also a foreigner in the US, and I tell people I'm from Dallas, because that's where I live, and I assure you that I lived in my home country longer than you did yours. I make a pretty good impression of an American, however. My accent is pretty spot on.

I've tried that a few times, and they get kind of offended that I don't identify with my "homeland." Like I am betraying "my people." It's honestly fucking bizarre, they then look at me like I just told them I molest cats or something.
