I lose almost every game of chess since I can never predict what my opponent is going to do more than one or two moves in advance and when watching a movie or show, I never know what is going to happen next and every time there is a twist, I always think "wow, I didn't see that coming". I can also never come up with witty or humorous things to say. All I can do is play piano and go doodly doodly doo as an outlet for my inner turmoil

This is political because I am not only trying to improve my life but also intelligence statistics and overall functionality of the world which is an undertaking that has strong political implications. The picture is not related to the subject of the post

don't have much in the way of advice, but i'm rooting for you fellow tard anon.

are you pretty socially isolated? from what i understand that can really fuck your mental capacities, pretty sure it's done a number on mine.

probably pretty obvious, but i would try to do more mentally engaging things and less mindless shit (4chan, tv, youtube, etc.)

Chess is a game of odds for both moves and mental states. So to get good at chess, you have to get good at rough calculations, cause-and-effect, and manipulation. People don't think straight when their king is constantly getting pressed on by coordinated attacks. Fortunately, there already exists research at the crossroads of statistics and psychology called "Game Theory". There are multiple free lectures and walked-through puzzles for you to learn from. And if pretty colors and movements dazzle your eyes more than walls of text and charts, No Game No Life is an anime almost entirely about game theory.
If you want to work on your rough calculations and pattern recognition, I suggest playing shorter and less complex games like poker, cribbage, and hearts. There are a lot fewer moves than chess, which makes card counting easier, but you still get the human psychology element. I also recommend reading a lot of history, psychology, and philosophy books to get a better understanding of cause-and-effect and following things through to their ends.

IQ is a meme, and so is chess. the best chess players all come out shitty meme countries with barely any infrastructure.

If you enjoy it as a fun board game, that's fine, but don't worry about it being an actual measurement of intelligence.
