I love being a husband and dad, but getting almost no peace and quiet is wearing me real thin. I used to be able to sit in still contemplation, play piano, work on personal projects, read books, etc. Now I get off work, step out of my office, and help my wife with the kids who have already been wearing her out all day.
The three year old is well-behaved, but the one year old screams constantly unless being held. I know it's just the age, but damn. Any advice? Particularly from other parents? I feel like it's just my lot to endure this season of life.
(I had to rephrase this since "venting" is not allowed here. Got some real good advice in my previous thread that I wish I screenshotted. Oh well.)

You should actually post this question on reddit, specifically some parent related sub.
I'm serious, who tf comes on 4chan asking for parental advice? This is a website for autistic people who do not leave their houses.

>Particularly from other parents?

Imagine getting parenting advice from 20 year olds, and/or 35 year olds who have never kissed a woman outside of prostitutes.

You're the one who wanted kids, or decided to nut blast inside your wife unprotected and not clean it up after.

>I love being a husband and dad
It doesn't sound like it.

how about you read a book to your kids or something instead

This is the crucible

This is as hard as it will get

Keep going anon, you can do it. And in a few years the kid(s) will be old enough to look after themselves for a bit

This board is absolute shit. Shouldn't be surprised when 90% of threads are
> be me
> fat ass
> lazy piece of shit
> NEET
"can't get gf, what do?"
Fucking hell you people.

That's the downside of having young children close in age. You're just stuck in that stage for longer. Not really much you can do except for outsourcing care when you can (babysitter, grandparents) and taking a day or weekend to be yourself again.

you can find it in archives, probably. do you remember some of the context? if so, you could google it to find the thread number and then use an archive to read it all

Your top priority is to provide for your family, and you cannot do that effectively if you do not provide for yourself first, you can't pour out of an empty cup so you need to fill your cup. You're not being selfish, this is to help you be there for your family.
Talk to your wife, you both need time to recharge. Take a walk alone, let her take a walk alone.Let each other have some time to do the things you get fulfilment from.

This is why multi-generational households are good. Get grandma and grandpa to move in and help out with the kids. If that's not possible, then all I can do is send you my sympathies and wish you the best.

only thing I can suggest is maybe a baby sitter for a day to just chill out? maybe family could help?
