There are paths to do things you want to do in life, it's just a matter of what sacrifices you're willing to take to do them. There's plenty of people who abandoned everything they had, took off and played guitar to earn enough money to pay for food and gas/bus fare. There's others who worked on a small hobby project in their off-time and then it took off and they could quit their job.
I don't really enjoy my job, and I don't enjoy working at the moment. I'm saving for an early retirement. After I retire I can pursue my passion of dance, I hope, if I'm not too decrepit by then. It's a safe route but a little soul-draining.
