I miss /adv from a few years ago. Obviously this is 4chan, and there were always plenty of trolls and edgelord teens. But even as recently as two or three years ago, a significant percentage of the threads on here were from people genuinely asking for advice; and at least a few of the replies were from people making actually helpful, well-thought-out suggestions.

Nowadays at least 90% of threads here are blatantly either larps or outright trolling. It seems as if /adv has become nothing more than an extension of /b (works of fiction), /r9k (misogynistic incel rants) and /pol (aggressive racism). And okay, 4chan is the place for those things; but there are other forums that are better suited; they don't have to be here as well.

Is there anything we can do to give /adv a reason to exist again? In particular, is there anything we can do to get the jannies to start pruning blatant larping and trolling a bit more aggressively?

So nicely said that I suspect that you have been hard at work with the larp and troll threads. I appreciate it because this board is slow enough to allow for it. When I come around I try to bump important posts from sinking to the bottom and I never set foot in threads about love or sex. It is pretty slim pickings. When overlooking the incels, there’s almost nothing on this board. I don’t see any reason to complain about the current state of things only to make things worse. This place is jacked by glowies like everything else and people with eyes to see were banned during political times within the range of megalopolises. I have been here the whole time except being ranged excluded for the occasional like six or eighteen months. I’m sure it happened to a few of us and a lot of good ones eventually never came back. So if it weren’t for the larps, what remains?
