how can i stop being like this? normal people don't care about how others fare, i know i have deep insecurities but this is seriously hindering me, i've been already banned from chats in several games but i just can't stop.

how old are you? i'm 29 and realized i can't keep up with young bucks in competitive games anymore so i don't play often and just accept i lost my touch
it's natural to be competitive though, just disable chatting so you stop getting banned

I feel like I have a similar problem but it's not about vidya for me. I think the problem with us is less about the vidya like >>33482381 and >>33482382 say it is.
I get really upset if someone plays a piece better than me on the piano. Like if someone is clearly better than me, I get kind of upset and I hate it. I think we are similar in this way. It especially sucks if it's a piece I have played or really want to play someday.
My point being is that I will be watching this thread for help too. I wish I could help but we will be a lot happier when we can fix it.

Just know that the problem is deeper than the vidya despite what some think.

It's something in the brain that makes us want to be the best at something, but it's going too far and is now detrimental to our mind and goals.

Maybe it's a human communication problem, might be for OP, but it seems his lashing out on people in games is more about his anger and ego rather than his communication skills.
