How do I stop feeling like a loser?
I finally got my first job and it's at walmart, which is nice, but I have no degree or other useful skills. This would be fine if I were 18-20 years old, but I'm 25 and far behind other people around my age, and I understand that life isn't a race, but to most people, you're expected to have accomplished certain things by a specific age and if you haven't then you're the odd one. It also doesn't help that I'll have less time to build up wealth unless I get lucky at some point in my life. I'm not going to give up, but I still feel like crap for having zero accomplishments when I'm halfway through my 20s already.

stop using 4chan nigga. go to the gym and stop being a lazy fuck and get skills.

honestly no one cares except you. 25 is not even close to being late and you are most likely doing better than people that might seem to be doing better bc theres a lot that people fake and hide. Worry about your own money and start planning for your future and that includes maybe getting into the walmart study program if they have one.you could learn a trade or short program of 6 months to at least get started. or get you a CDL, thats what i did and made a good amount of money enough to be happy and keep me entertained with my hobbies. try to stay happy. lifes too short

I don't want to be lazy anymore, which is why I'm glad I got a job. I can finally make some money, save. invest, etc, but I'm comparing myself to my former and current friends and others in their early to mid 20s and I can't help but feel like I'm behind them. I want to shake this feeling off.

I'm not sure if there are any well paying careers at walmart, which is why I don't plan on working there forever. I do want a family of my own in the future and a career at walmart isn't attractive to most women unless you have a somewhat high status position in the company. I'm not saying I need to make millions or even hundreds of thousands of dollars though.

You are not lost.
You have yourself.

Walmart is not back-breaking, isnt it?
Perhaps youll find motivation to learn something useful. Life is long, sometimes too long, you'll see.
About women, in my experience, if you become happy, you'll turn attractive, and someone will come. Nobody want's to be near some weeper crybaby, really.

>but I still feel like crap for having zero accomplishments when I'm halfway through my 20s already.

Brother be real, you are only a handful of years into adulthood. You say halfway through 20s on so let's say 25. 7 years as an adult not even a decade and you wonder why you don't have your shit together? It's because you just got started. Name me a single teenager who has the house, the wife, the dog, the six figure salary and I'll show you either: A liar, or, someone who didn't work for that and it got given to them for free by their parents money. You are doing the best you can with the hand you got dealt, that is more than enough OP, I promise you, that alone makes you a full blooded man worthy of his manhood. Because at least you are actually getting up and grinding it out and actually bothering to climb. Think of men your age or even older who do absolutely nothing and gave up and then give yourself props for not succumbing to that fate

I don't want to discourage OP but I don't see how to recover from that.

I'm 25 as well, I have a job in finance and have $150k networth. I also have a ton of friends on Wallstreet and family members in finance, and even I feel like I'll never make it in life or be able to afford a family or proper place. My Finance has these dreams of owning a house and having kids and going on vacation but I don't see how that life is possible anymore unless you're part of the 0.1% who get into Quant firms or run a successful tech firm.

And I'm broke as fuck comparatively with only $40 in the bank right now and I got a wife and kid and a cozy apartment. I work but my money is always zero'd out each time the wage comes in. And I'm content enough bro, because I know the real wealth ain't the money, the real wealth is I got a home to come back to filled with peace and comfort. This isn't a brag by the way, this is me trying to tell you that the shit you want the most costs $0.00. yet when you have it, it feels priceless. Funny how life works like that, all the things that cost money we can always work to replace, but the things we get for free when we lose those, like our mind or body or love bonds, it fucking cripples us.
You got your mind and body so there is absolutely no reason you can't get what you want except the belief you impose on yourself that you can't have it. You can dude you always could, and you already have what it takes, because you're a hard working guy as it is. So go and chase something real with a woman you like and forget about the money, work that shit later once you got the wife and kid

>if you become happy, you'll turn attractive, and someone will come.
Women don't approach men unless the man himself is very attractive, but I'm assuming you meant that I'll meet a woman who wouldn't mind the fact that I'm working a dead end job for now. Then again, women rarely date down and the majority of them are degree or college diploma holders now.
Nobody want's to be near some weeper crybaby, really.
That's obvious, which is why I'll try my best to not come off as that kind of person in public.

I know most people in their late teens or early 20s aren't living the upper middle class life, but a good chunk of them are graduating, or have graduated from college or university, or have a useful skill that allows them to make more than minimum wage, and they're more independent, though I guess there are some college/university graduates who are still working a minimum wage job because they haven't managed to find a job in the field they studied in.
>You are doing the best you can with the hand you got dealt, that is more than enough OP, I promise you, that alone makes you a full blooded man worthy of his manhood.
I became a full time neet for 6 years after graduating from high school, despite the fact that I had a somewhat privileged life and some money set aside for me so I can go to university. That is the exact opposite of doing my best.

Ah my bad, well you got the fiancee. So there you go that's a start. But fiancee wants a rich lifestyle and you feel you can't deliver. You can, just pick places and experiences that don't cost 5 digits multiple times a year. Would your fiancee give you shit for that?

I disagree, because you didn't stop to consider that being a 'NEET' was actually a full time job. By that I mean, that was presumably 6 years of being in a rut, being aimless and all the despair or misery that comes with. That shit wasn't easy for you and it took a toll on you I'm sure? So I think you are doing your best + even beyond that because you managed to get out of a 6 year hole, that's something to give yourself some credit for

You say it's far behind but it's really not, most people of any age right now would kill for any job it's hard to find one at all. Walmart is also typically filled with employees in your age range and into/through their 30s/40s, you're just average, not below or above.

Technically, it's my second job. I got my first job in 2019, but it for a co-op course in high school so I didn't get paid. This will be my first paid job and my first job in 6 years. Why walmart? First place that called me back in my 5 months of looking for a job.

Brother. No offense, but you are literally still a child. We don't even truly become "men" until 30. I, myself, didn't even see my self as a "man" or anything other than a "dude" or "bro" until 31. In addition, assuming you've kept up your health and been improving yourself consistently (money, knowledge, fitness), the 30s are where the prime actually starts picking up. Our peak is in our 40s. Lots of people like to say the 20s are our prime but no. We don't have any resources. We don't really have any value to provide. They'll talk about athletes as proof but that's an extreme subset and nowhere near average. The average, fit, smart 40 year old would beat the average 20 year old's ass, without even trying.

Men do not have a time limit or biological clock. Women's value is based on beauty and fertility, both of which go away with time. A man's value is based on his mind. You could become a millionaire in the last 10 years of your life if you were healthy enough and had the drive. So get rid of these fake time limits. You're still ~5 or so years away from being a man and 15-20 years away from hitting the peak of your prime. Said another way: there's a reason women generally prefer older men. Don't worry, you'll still be able to pull those nice 20 year olds at 38 if you've taken care of yourself. You see the problems. You're smart enough for that. So take the steps to improve your mind. Go back to home base with things that interested you as a child. Seek knowledge. Build upon what you have. You no longer have an excuse, now that you know these things, anon.

Thoughts? No right or wrong answers though.

The cost of living in Canada is pretty high these days, so living off of minimum wage is pretty rough. Luckily I don't have to pay rent, but I still want to pay some bills. I applied for a position as a produce stocker, and from I've heard from the head of that department, I'll be doing lots of heavy lifting and restocking every 2 hours.
