Addiction
Quitting is the hardest thing you'll ever do. But you have to do it. I have to do it.
To quit, define a goal and focus on it, eliminate and reduce triggers, interrupt your habits if they sneak back in, and reward yourself for these successes no matter how small they might seem. Do not forget to reward yourself, or else you will fail.
Discipline is a fight in every moment. So, fight. Do not lower your fists, keep them up. Keep swinging. You will get knocked down sometimes. You can get back up. You know you can get back up. So get back up, and stay in the fight.
My addiction has ruled me for almost two decades. My reward is fresh air, better sleep, better diet, stronger body, family, friends, and great experiences. My reward is escaping the chaos, uncertainty, debt, and illness caused by my addiction.
I'm making this thread to kick it off. I've lined everything up and made preparations. I am ready to get started immediately. I am ready to join the club of survivors, wear my badge proudly, and live a healthy life going forward.
This is my last post. I am ripping the cables out of my computer and throwing it away the moment I create this thread. Life is worth it.
I hope you take your situation seriously and address addiction. I will hold your hand in spirit, some anon you'll never meet or know, I will be there for you, I will never leave your side. We will be strong together. We will make it. When we stumble, we get back up.
