I see a lot of true points in this. videogames were highly unpopular like prior to the mid 2000s, when things like xbox live and wow were just starting to pick up momentum. once fratbros saw how cool it was to play online or have lan parties playing halo 1 or 2 all night, it started becoming acceptable for normies, and a couple years after that is when the women started to infiltrate the ecosphere.

ive been playing since before this time and continue to, and over the years I think I've met maybe like 5 women total who actually like games for the gameplay and not for the male attention. the few things that are common are that, they were exposed to the hobby early by either their dad or an older sibling, and/or used it as a tool for escapism to avoid their bleak pasts (low income, abusive community/school, etc).

to talk about your second post, i agree that sometimes it can be easy to just go with the flow and follow trends to get what you want, ive learned this much from becoming old. all the same, its really shitty when you are truly aren't a conformist and start losing your soul from being a sheep. not sure what im trying to say but life is a struggle no matter what. may as well enjoy things for their own merit and not try to be fake because that wont make you content.

My wife used to play more vidya, but not much anymore. We played through little nightmares together but that was a while ago.
Irl i know some girls who play games, i mostly met them through college friends and in the college board game club.
Online the girls i met who play vidya were only through a pixelmon minecraft server.
Much like seeking, it's easier if you just know more people and hand out with their friends.
You just gotta make more friends and be not retarded enough where they occasionally want to hang out with you, and you'll meet even more people.
