Guys, is almost 30 (me) and early 20s (her) okay? We are both adults and she's not a teen but it still feels like it's a bit much and would make people question my intentions. It's not like I really care because I don't think I am doing anything wrong but I am concerned about her reputation and the difficulties the age gap could lead to. We aren't dating yet and things are super casual but I do find her captivating and fun but I am also not sure if getting feelings for someone who's just barely an adult is such a great idea. I am also just out of a relationship that was really tough on me, it messed me up good. I do think new girl is much nicer and she could actually give me what I need (previous girl was an avoidant).
So what do you guys think I should do?

Rounding up to 30 means 22 is fine, 28-29 means 21, 26-27 means 20. In all of these cases someone'd have to be really petty to raise hell about it being 1 year off when they're both 20+

I’m 32 and my gf is 23. She’s far smarter than me and other people her age, but our differences and priorities in life are clear. I’m ready to settle down, while she’s still discovering herself. I can’t help but feel when she figures out her life, she will realize I don’t really fit in it.

I dated a 21 year old when I was 31. Luckily I don't live in the USA so no one batted an eyelid.

My experience, however, was a bit frustrating - she was starting her life and wanted to do everything - travel to Mali, backpack across the continent, stay up all night partying, take a course 6 hour drive away, etc etc. I'd already done all that, and was looking to ... not so much settle down but at least always have a warm meal and a comfy bed to sleep in at night.

The other thing was how being 10 years older and 10 years more experience gave me a very different perspective on things. I hated being Mr Been Their Done That. So often I had to hold my tongue and let her learn things I'd already done the hard way.
