I have previously discussed that the true reason of these threads is to reminde people how awesome platypuses and precious unique fauna and their habitat are (especially platypuses) and wanting one doesn't necessarily mean having one. It could be as simple as contributing to habitat conservation, or visiting somewhere like Healsvillsanctuary or the San Diego safari park and contributing to their continued preservation for future generations however you are able.
