Who is Jefrey (with one F)?

He was found abandoned in some bushes filthy and covered in fleas late one night in mid-July 2024. He’s almost all grown up, and enjoys car rides, climbing trees, going to new places, and most of all, his capybara. Some believe him to be a goblin or gremlin. He was named after the Pixies song “Space (I Believe In)”.

Jefrey suffers from severe ear-ectile dysfunction.

Originally posted him here back in July 2024 seeking advice for potential health problems due to his folded ears, some /an/ons wanted more of him, and so now you’re stuck with him.

Forgot to reply to this, but no, not as much - he got slightly more cowardly after he got neutered. The weather has also been super hot lately and I worry about him dragging home fleas. But still it’s not like he freaks out and panics. The thing he seems to enjoy the most are just basic rides in the car, he goes into super relax mode on my wife’s lap after he settles down from the initial excitement. He usually gets pissed off when we finally park and try to move him.

It all depends on context. If you just go in for it without permission he will bite you. If he wants it, he’ll let you. But when it comes to affection in general he’s really all over the place. He can light up my morning by begging me to pick him up to lick my face and groom my hair, then be a terrorist shortly after by chasing the other two around the house, biting them etc. He’s also really headstrong and doesn’t like to feel not in charge.

In short he does like belly rubs but only when he’s relaxed and in the mood.

I would guess dermatitis, be it from allergies (dust, pollen, food or even cleaning products you use on yourself and not the cat), contact (have you gotten any new plants lately?) or moisture (least likely but still possible).
My first thought was scabies but you, the missus and the other cats would be itching, if not have the same rash. It could still be some sort of parasite. A mite, maybe but again, other cats and the two of you seem fine, yeah?
Another possibility is a fungal or bacterial infection. Does it smell?
Finally (and this is the one I would put my money on considering you haven't mentioned anything about the other cats), could be an autoimmune issue. The allergic dermatitis kinda falls under this heading.
