Ok /dog/, I want to get a dog. I am dead set on getting one and cost is no issue. The only problem is allergies as I am allergic to dog saliva which means "hypoallergenic" breeds don't work. I take cetrizine for hayfever everyday but it does not really work with dog saliva, so I am in this awkward situation where I love dogs, want a dog but get puffy eyes and nasaly if they so much as lick my face or I rub my own face after fussing one. Is there some way I can overcome this?

I know, it's just a difficult thing to swallow and accept. I mean theoretically I COULD still own one by making sure to wash my hands whenever I play with the dog and avoid getting licked in the face but the risk will always be there. That and I know the day I settle down with a woman they are going to insist the dog enters the bedroom for snuggle shit

Glaucoma sent her blind initially, then her allergies mixed with that kept causing her to get eye infections.
I was giving her 3 seperate eyedrops multiple times a day and she was still uncomfortable, so i decided to just have her eyes removed so she could relax properly.

The transition actually super easy for her, she knows the layout of not just my house and yard but the surrounding beaches and streets too.

I've seen her full sprint from the front room of my house, out the back door and up to the chicken coop without hitting a thing.

She refuses to go on the jetty now though, the waves underneath make her worried.

Have you ever had a "reactive" dog? What worked?
Mine has always been extremely anxious, I don't know if something bad happened to her before we got her.
I've never had a dog like this, the rest were completely fine and good-tempered. I've gotten her to the point where she won't lose her shit at another dog from across the road (still have to cross to the other side) but it's taken years. It's embarrassing and I don't want to go outside anymore. I hate inconveniencing people.
Her obedience and training in every other area than this is genuinely great, but it's like nothing else exists when she's over her threshold. I don't know where I went wrong with her.
