The ones that are handled and picked up at Fox Village are the ones that just vibe with everything and live in their own enclosed area where they get special treatment as opposed to the open area foxes.
They are the odd ones that don't scramble over food and just vibe with everything, except they'd 100% get bullied out of food by the open area foxes for being so docile so they get special protection. They probably don't know what's going on with the outfits and are just happy to be there.

Counter by taking foxes for your own. 1/2 acres of private woodland-esque roam space per fox is ideal. Make sure to have tall/deep fences covered with chicken wire when it is sleepytime. Feed them a balanced diet, but eggs are okay from time to time. Maybe get them a friend so they are not isolated from their fox kind.
That is the way to do it, 2v1 with better and happier foxes.
Colors foxes come in:
Red - yes
Orange - yes
Yellow/Tan - yes
Green - no
Blue - kinda ('blue morph' foxes)
Purple - no
Pink - no
Brown - yes
Black - yes
Gray - yes
White - yes
Are the 3 missing colors worth pursuing?

I asked Grok and it said yes - The only reason more drastic variations of Fennecs don't exist yet is because they haven't been bred extensively for their coat colors yet and have a far smaller captive breeding gene pool but theoretically given their genetics they are subject to exactly the same MC1R gene that affects their coat color. Several variations already exist varying from pure white to darker shades of tan and brown, but that's the extent of it so far.

You can reply to it "That isn't true." to see if it instantly changes/reverses its answer. If it does, then it's generating arbitrary text that fits the prompt rather than reasoning with valid science. The thing about fennec variations in white and brown doesn't sound right at all. Looking up that claim only brings up a Prezi presentation made by some school child who thought fennecs, Ruppells, Corsacs, and South American Gray Foxes were different colorations of the same species.

I just tried that, it doubled down saying that there are confirmed color morphs that have been bred in Thailand citing a post from 2018 on xwitter by exoticpetworld as its source.
So I'm assuming that it is very possible to get color morphs we just haven't gone all the way because we don't have as many fenkfonks in the pet trade nor have we ever had an active fur farm trade for them either

https://www.wildlifeonline.me.uk/questions/answer/why-are-foxes-so-smelly-part-3
>Allomarking is a behaviour whereby one member of a group scent marks another, and it's a well-documented behaviour among mammals. Rabbits squirt urine at each other during courtship, for example, while badgers frequently dab clan members with their subcaudal glands to help create a group scent, and there are a few observations suggesting foxes also engage in this behaviour. Dominant males in Macdonald's group were observed to token mark subordinate group members, typically on their heads and shoulders while they were lying down. Similarly, I have seen a dog fox (rather awkwardly, it must be said) allomark a vixen stood feeding. Unfortunately, this remains a poorly studied area of fox biology.
>Finally, as with urine, foxes may allomark each other with faeces. In August 2015, veteran fox-watcher Maggie Bruce photographed a vixen defaecating on a related female in her garden in Yorkshire. This was the first time Maggie had observed this behaviour, and I have been unable to find anything about it in the literature. Nonetheless, it appears this wasn't unique. Panthera project's lead mammologist Mark Elbroch told me:
>"We've caught the behavior on video several times at carcasses in the Northern Rockies, USA. A red fox will run backwards at a conspecific, or stand stationary, and shoot scats at another—with their tail curled safely to one side of them. The fox at the receiving end runs off in the encounters I remember… we didn't know what to make of it"

The Ancient Egyptians had no separate word for fox, despite 3 species of fox, reds, ruppells, and fennecs, living in Egypt. There is not a single mention of foxes in their mythology either. Why should this be the case?
The reality is they did not differentiate species as we do now. A jackal, a fox... different sized versions of the same animal to their eyes. It's not that strange. We call chihuahuas and great danes the same thing, dog, despite their vast difference in size and look.
What this means for us? Every reference to a jackal was interchangable with fox. Anubis is a jackal, but also a fox.
