My kittens and the mother were killed by a random dog a few months ago and they didn't even try to eat them or shit. I haven't had a cat since, but a cat has been staying around here for a while and I guess it's basically my pet now so that's cool. I have a dog and he's annoying as fuck, but he's a puppy and nice with cats.
I wish I could have an exotic cat or a mountain lion or something, though lol. Ramble over, take care.
