>>22914085follow the teaching that are preached but dont act as the preachers do.
they preach but dont what they preach themselves, but we are to follow the teachings since they are from God.
also dont do it for fame or honor or positions of power but for loving God.
also dont lord over your fellow believers as they do for you all have one teacher that is God.
>>22914086> Its about the passions. Not being being "hidden" or "dead" in literal sense.when did I ever imply anything like that. you die every day to Christ anyway. if I do it in a monastery or not changes nothing at all.
you can be a saint paisios to the people around in your life and have more impact than living in a secluded place where some monk writes about the miracles and revelations you received.
you can bring the holiness to the table when just leading a normal life and being a candle and example to the people around you. most likely you have more impact on people that way anyway. who from the common people would look at a saint in a monastery and go "I want to be like him" if you arent a die hard zealot in the first place.
be a holy person and at peace at all times around the people you encounter and be the salt of the earth that way, most likely you come across someone who is thirsty and you are prepared to give him water and the gospel of Jesus Christ?
just an example, if I was to reveal what God had done through me any of the saints would write books about me and come to meet me. but fuck that noise, its between me and God.
like I said, dont think the biggest saints sit in some monastery, the biggest saint is the janitor taking out the trash without complaining and leading a holy life by being a representative of Christ every day of the week to people around him.
this whole holier than thou is what keeps me from catholics and orthodox alike. its pride in disguise.
