went to the costco, wasn't as crowded as i thought it would be, needed blueberries, picked up some other stuff as well. only got 18 pounds of yogurt but it still raised eyebrows. had a little fun driving fast too.

today was the new moon, hadn't kept up but that explains a lot, knew we were waning but wasn't sure where on the cycle we were, tomorrow we start waxing again, that might have something to do with today's events as well. feeling a lot better about my trade now that i've gotten through my big earnings dates, and we probably don't flash crash. i could be using a lot more margin debt, but it's probably good i don't, too many mistakes could become costly and every bad trade weighs on the mind, my biggest loss this year could have turned into a $3000 gain if i'd just been patient, and i'm going to try to do that here, make a big return, maybe not that big though. fortunately i'm doing very well on the trading, added 2% to my portfolio in the last 3 months, gives me a lot more options when i have more cash too, was able to scoop a lot of ssl near the lows, bought a lot of wkey and laes this year too. unfortunately down on this trade, so account is cash negative at the moment, no options, but when i get out of it or grind back into positive territory i'll just add to etfs, have a very aggressive portfolio as it is and the market is high, buying qus and xt at the moment, xt is pretty risky but it's 50% international which i think can continue to perform even if the us market runs out of steam, which i don't expect but that's the thing, they always do things when they're least expected.

thinking a bit about the intc saga... obviously been wrong about this one. thought by now there would be massive demand for chips, that the accelerator would be stomped on full force, that we'd be hurtling into the automated future. not so. instead we're brake stomping. and i was listening to some glowievision today, something about global ai strategy, and they were going on about how chinese electricity capacity was way higher than ours, and still growing faster, but that they are reliant on western companies for advanced chips, suppose they count nvidia as western... anyhow that was kind of an aha moment, tptb in the west have an interest in slowing down ai development rather than speeding it up at the moment, give the west a chance to catch up in the underpinnings and framework before we start building even better chips at scale, because no matter how many laws you write, technology is going to diffuse and get over there, and we're trying to maintain a technology lead. so anyhow intel is still in the doghouse for now, but 18a is ramping up, 14a seems to be delayed however, but when the country is ready, intc will be the one that supplies it. suppose that means the place to be looking right now is energy and industrials and of course chips made in taiwan - so long as it remains independent, which i have my doubts about.
