Thankfully I did alright and didn't squander my dev buks so extended unemployment has been kind of a chill hiatus psuedo-neet experience for me. A lot devs broke off to start their own smaller studios and poached people. Hopefully they wised up and kept it private, but who knows which of those studios will succeed or fail. I really like Dota 2, but I agree that WC3 Dota is better in a lot of ways, the aesthetics are way better in WC3 Dota. Blizzard really fucked up by letting Valve get ahold of it

The Iksar are the best lizardman race in all of fantasy imo. it's cool they came from a dev's D&D campaign when he was a teenager.

That game was lit. It was fun to see the devs occasionally join the games, only to be utterly obliterated and buffing their lovechild heroes in the next patch

Those ages are gone now. Its nice to reminiscence but just like the 90s, 80s, 70s etc before it there is no going back. You can only emulate glimpses of what you felt back then in those days

I only play EVE online now, modern slop is insufferable.
