If you're dumb the best way to stay out of troubles is to not do anything to radical. For example, I decided to never learn to drive and so I don't have to worry about getting in a car accident or having angry drivers yell at me. And I don't date women so I don't have to worry about them psychoanalyzing me or asking me to pay for an abortion. And I don't work so I don't have to worry about the manager getting irritated and telling me I'm unfit and firing me. Just stay out of society's way and you can stay out of trouble like me ^_^

there's something to it for sure
it can be good to have society on your side though, get access to nice houses and doctors and expensive computers and good food and other things

i avoided alcohol entirely until i was 24 for this reason
turns out i'm actually one of the more reasonable drunks that just says stupid shit but is pretty rigid in their morals

that's not dumb, it's smart af. i would strive to do this if i didn't have people who counted on me.

Not everybody can get on society's good side! I'm sure if I was more of a go getter people wouldn't like me very much. They would report me to the government and then Trump would send guy who tricked boogie into shooting a gun to come to my door and call me a loser and step on my face! you'd be surprised what you can get away with & have people leave you alone, you know?
as long as you don't step on anyone's toes (or try to live off-grid with a large group of people (cult)), you'll be left alone normally
