it's funny, the game was developed over the course of 13 or 14 years
i think he built an engine for it
i have a gaming PC built in 2018, it runs pretty well on there
a bit of lag once i install enough mods, but i've never even adjusted the graphics settings below their defaults lol
>but i was also considering making it all from pre 2008 parts so there arent hardwired NSA backdoors so might be tricky to run somthing from only a few years ago on it.
maybe yeah
it sucks how bloated/inefficient alot of software has become, almost faster than hardware has improved :/
remember, the pre-2008 CPUs will still run the intel management engine by default, except you're able to dig it out basically
but a machine with steam and everything required to play games is realistically probably gonna have software backdoors, sadly
on the other hand, there was a leak of the IME source code, and supposedly there were no backdoors found
on the OTHER hand, the NSA has placed orders for computesr with special chipsets which don't use the intel management engine, and i think they disallow it by policy
also, if intelligence agencies wanted to backdoor into machines at the CPU level, there's a different method they'd use according to someone i talk to
