i've talked to many other brazillians around my age, and they seem to share the same sort of pessimism & disillusionment, even the wealthier ones with large families & good positions in life
they tend to have a better knowledge of culture and other countries than almost anyone else, and have some interesting ideas. it's nice talking to them about that stuff sometimes
i think russians are similar, the pessimism & things they write about
