I know that can't be raw shrimp, but the color looks off. Translucent still.
I don't understand Asian food enough to get what's going on there. Why does it come with a roll and butter like western food when there's another side of noodles in addition to the shrimp noodles?
Is that some kind of cake top middle, or just another kind of bread? What's in the foil?

Also, OP. Most people don't think food tastes better on airplanes. Most of us complain about it compared to a restaurant or home cooked meal. It's been microwaved and that bun is in a single serve bag with ink printed on it.
So I don't know where you get off thinking for tastes better there. Maybe you're just really hungry or something.

>I know that can't be raw shrimp, but the color looks off. Translucent still.
That's what happens when the shrimp were frozen. They are rubbery and have a particular snap and don't get much colour when cooked. I've tried almost all frozen shrimp in my suprmarket and they all have those characteristics. I did that because I watched some video that claimed there's no difference between buying fresh ones and frozen from the freezer section - that is wrong, and the price is not that different when it comes to the highest quality.

When I get my meal, it's usually some shit like
>main (meat and rice or noodles)
>roll (very cold)
>cracker packer
>cheese
>side salad of some kind (potato, cucumber)
>butter
I take the roll, cut it open, stick it under the VERY hot main lid, and let it sit for 2 min to warm up. Take crackers and crumble them, spread inside main. Roll warms up, put butter and cheese on roll and eat it delicious and warm. Eat side salad leisurely between bites of main and roll. Eat the little candy at the end. Wa la

It does, in fact, heat the roll. Roll is already cooked but they keep em refrigerated. Main is too hot when it comes usually anyway, close that lid and put it to work on your roll. I make it very exaggerated, my actions, so other flight members can watch and learn how to heat the roll with their main.

Generally food does not taste as good on an airplane as on ground level even if it's the exact same thing because the lowered pressure interferes with your taste buds.
That being said I think people bitching about airplane food in general have their tastebuds fried because in all my time flying I've pretty much never had anything that wasn't at least "alright".

Lufthansa's food is utter garbage. Jewish people back then probably had better food.

I was a flight attendant. There are no microwaves on planes. They're convention ovens. And all meat is precookedโ€”we just warmed the food up. I agree the shrimp looks a little too translucent, though. I'd skip this.
>>21405053
If boat loads of sodium is the chemical you're referring to, sure. Otherwise you're retarded.
>>21405090
Fuck yeah, we used to hoard Cheez-Its when Delta had them, which was rare for some reason. I think only certain catering stations had them. Boston and either JFK or LGA? I don't remember.

What actually does taste better to me on planes is seltzer/club soda. It doesn't need ice. Just straight from the can. It somehow has more of a bite. I'd down those suckers so much.

Might have something to do with the flight length. On longer flights they've had food for purchase, but on like, a direct flight from Hartford to Detroit it's snacks only. If I want food I have to buy it at the airport. Still tastes good in the air, though.

"I eat in my car" is one of the most surefire unintentinal American markers
This isn't a critique, just kind of amusing that it's so particular to Americans whereas in most other places your car is something you wouldn't wanna get dirty for its irregular use, rather than something you "live in"
