Everybody on this board get the fuck in here RIGHT NOW. 3 days ago I ate maybe 15% of a summer sausage with the casing still on it. I literally thought it was part of the meat itself. Just now as I was eating it my mom sperged at me in front of everyone. I ran to the bathroom and managed to throw them up. I mean I didn't get sick since I've been eating it and I've been shitting as normal. This stuff will pass right through me right?

I once made the mistake of buying veggie white pudding sausage instead of regular.
I threw it on the bbq and shit started melting and stinking like burnt plastic. The casing turned out to be indeed plastic.
So much for vegans saving the planet.
Never making that mistake again, not buying meat from supermarkets anymore.

The mahogany casings that you're probably talking about are usually made of what is basically paper (plant fibers). It's not meant to be edible but it's just processed plant fibers so you should be able to digest it.
