Hungry Man
Im so fucking tired of pretending these aren't good. Just because you are too fucking lazy to put them in an oven and then bitch the chicken isn't crispy and award winning like Popeyes or some shit.

Put it in the oven do the work and get a tasty as fuck meal as the result.

Besides Aldi, nearly every American grocery store has superior fried chicken. Pretty sure those hungry mans are up 5 or 6 bucks now. If you want to trash it up, just get an 8 piece and a pouch of instant potatoes and a dollar bag of corn.

There is no reason to buy TV dinners unless they are on sale for under $2, and even then I definitely wouldn't buy this. I can get a 1lb bag of frozen pierogies at shoprite for $1.49 right now. This thing in OP's pic costs $5 and it tastes like a crappy Obama school lunch. For comparison you could buy a whole ass rotisserie chicken for the same price.

Protip for survival on these garbage tins:
1. Slap some butter on the corn. Makes sure they won't dry out. Margarine if you have to.
2. Mix in some butter with the potato-like substance. It won't help. Best thing is to replace it with a cup of actual potato flakes that you dehydrate.
3. Air fry the chicken. Will actually crisp it up.

>>21425396
This poster gets it. FAR better to get the components and make it yourself. Mug brownies and cakes are actually pretty damn good, and potato flakes work perfectly fine. It helps they are real potato instead of that shit. Get some 2-3lb bag of frozen fried chicken and you are set. And corn from a can is better than that crap.

Why did they make the treys white? It makes the food look so fucking unappealing. I actually stopped buying these purely because of this change.

I just don't see the point now that air fryers exist. Feeling lazy? Throw some shit in the air fryer and come back to a crispy delicious meal, maybe throw a little instant mash on top, who gives a fuck about the brownie and corn anyway.

Shove some corn in the instant mash and just buy some bakery brownies then, I guess. That way you don't have to deal with the sad cafeteria trays and Hungry Man brownies feel like a sponge, all air and cocoa powder, not that deep bite you want from a brownie.

I don't know, microwave meals just seem like an antique of the 80s that've just stuck around. They're not cheap and they're not that convenient. I don't think they're really going to be around in another 10 years.

Used to eat these the spicy chicken one, stopped after I kept getting sinew in the breaded chicken. They probably buy the cheapest, nastiest chicken they can get. If you want cheap chicken stick to the processed nuggets and tenders.

Ahhh! Please don't! They're terrible. The only passable thing is the corn and that's because it's just standard frozen veggie. The potatoes are like instant mash, but even worse because it's frozen after. Imagine making instant potato, freezing it, then thawing it again before eating it. The chicken is the lowest quality available, both meat and batter, and is borderline inedible without an oven/air fryer. And that brownie? Disgusting. It's like a gooey pile of chalky slop designed more for the dopamine hit of 'having dessert' rather than actually tasting like food. No, I don't like it at all. Rather than Hungry Man! I think they should be called, (I'm) Hungry. Man! (This sucks)

Did they start using lower grade chicken recently? These the fried chicken hungry man (cooked in the fucking oven) was always a great meal. Until about a year ago and the chicken got sort of different.

OP, all of this. Any grocery deli is going to have good rotisserie or fried chicken, and a tossed together simple cole slaw or salad bag for a cold side or baked beans or steamed microwave veggies will suffice. Idahoan red skin instant mashed are top tier and ready in 5 mins, as are the ready to eat rices. My local deli has smoked ribs, smoked pulled pork, and mojo pork ready to eat. Their beer battered onion rings are crispy even when you get home and warm them in the microwave.

If you are trying to indicate that hungry man is convenient and tasty from the freezer for a no planned dinner, I dare say there are 4 or more national brands far better with "bowls" freezer dinner or pies that give you a better experience, especially if you do them in the oven or crisp them in the skillet.

the novelty of it is enticing but the end result never makes good on that. I try one every once in a blue moon and it's just not great.
