is this true, /ck/? or is this something they tell fat people to motivate them to lose weight.

It's not like it's a physical law, so of course there are exceptions, but yeah it's mostly true. It's way easier to get fat from things like soda and 50% sugar "coffee" than it is from like, pie. Forbidding yourself from unhealthy drinks is a good way to restrict calories, but if you're a massive hulking fatass of course you can manage to stuff your face with enough big macs to stay fat if you try.

Nah. Depends on the pie but generally refined fat+refined sugar+refined starch is worse for weight gain than just refined sugar. I could drink a couple cans of soda and get about 300 calories but a slice of pie can be 300 calories and not that hard to eat 2 or 3 slices.

In my experience a lot of skinny people aren't consuming tons of fatty foods, they seem to prefer sugary snacks and condiments and drinks but not with a lot of fat.

typical daily calorie requirements are between 1500-2500
a can of soda is 160cal, a bottle is 200, a typical normie coffee-flavored milkshake is probably around the same
if you drink four of those a day, cutting those out cuts 800 calories with pretty much no effort
that alone would be enough to go from "slowly gaining weight" to "slowly losing weight"

The truth is that people at a healthy weight savor whatever they're eating. Whether it be soda, steak, cereal, or even plain water, each mouthful should take you to flavortown.
A good indicator of whether or not you actually do this is how long pastries, candy, etc. last in your home. If you can take a pint of ice cream out of the fridge, take a spoonful, savor it, and have it last for a month then you actually savor your food. If it doesn't even last a week then you're a pig.

That's SO true. Non-obese people do not enjoy food or have preferences or tastes. It's all just energy. That's why when you see normal, not fat people shopping they don't buy normal products. They just buy cleaning supplies and non-food items.
We all drink soylent at home because we don't care. "Savoring" is for fats only. I've never met a normal skinny person who enjoys food, prefers one dish over another, or even tastes it at all. This is the typical human experience. I am not a robot and neither are you. We need fuel for energy, not enjoyment. I can't even taste anything. lol

Around here? I don't think so. People are usually pretty serious about disagreeing with something. That's why it doesn't work. You're going to the trouble to reply and mount a counterargument but you begin with 'nah'?

It's inconsistent and only serves to weaken the argument that succeeds it. But this is arguing with people who spell "whoa" wrong on purpose. I'm the one being stupid for trying to use logic here.

What's your diet like? Do you eat a lot of starch?

"My genetics makes me obese even if I don't eat anything at all" was always a bit ridiculous, but there are some theories that overweight people might actually have genetics that makes them not digest starch very well which causes a bunch of problems and leads to overeating.

Ok I've read the thread now.
I used to eat fast food every day and only drink coke. Almost 2L per day.
I'm 5'11" and grew up doing high endurance running, 6h+ per week. I have weighed around 150lbs. When I gave up fast food due to cost I dropped to 135lbs. I still drink half my calories in mostly soda but maybe 1/4 orange juice or whole milk. My main diet consists of fried foods, pizza, fajitas, burgers; ie fatty bar food. Vegetables are only consumed in condiment form. I move about 100m per day or less. I am still around 140lbs.
Food is one of the few things I do get enjoyment out of, hence why I've been coming to this board for over a decade.

Regardless. Nobody's goal should be to lose weight. The goal is to lose fat and you do that by not being a lazy fuck. Sugar is only a problem in so much as it prevents you from consuming protein that would gain you muscle. Maintaining muscle burns calories without exertion.

When you drink a liter of soda a day you're gonna savor that a lot less than someone who occasionally has one as a treat. When it becomes your norm and you burn yourself out on it, only eating it because of a habit of consuming a large amounts, you're not savoring it. Food might be all that a fat person has for "happiness" in their life, but at that point it's more that other sources of happiness are absent and so it looks like food is bringing you more than it really is.

I like drinking more than eating, and the drinks that appeal to me are things like black coffee and green tea, which both burn fat and reduce appetite even further. Honestly that's less than ideal; all my clothes are too big for me and even if I get stoned every meal has to be forced down (and my bf is a great cook so it's not like I've never known tasty food).

We don't lie. We just tend to eat most at social gatherings and if you ask us if we eat a lot, we pause and think back to the last time we ate a lot (last week) and say "Hell yeah I eat a ton". Also if you are trying to lose weight you have to eat even less than a skinny person to catch up. Their diet would only keep you basically the same weight.

I actually know people whom I respect in every other facet of their thinking except their excuses for being really unhealthily obese. No matter how I try to support and motivate them they always have a reason they're incapable of losing weight. I know deep down they don't really believe it but they delude themselves I guess to rationalize where they are. Some people just cannot be helped. If it's not food it's drugs or booze or something. An addict is an addict and until they're ready to make the change they'll suffer. It's not the medication, it's not the thyroid, it's not unhealthy to exercise. Anyone can do it if they stick to a diet plan of some kind.
If they just have to eat the things they do in the amounts that they do because they love it more than they love being thin and healthy, they need to own it and stop bringing the excuses.

Well, I don't know you? But also, I don't see why you'd be having to "browse the tranny parts" or why it'd have to be 24/7, either? You see it two or three times and you get to see the pattern. I'm not Rain Man, it's just distinctly obvious. It's reasonably implausible that you're "cis". Whilst I certainly know that biological women are also mentally ill, I don't think one of them would be so desperate to push that narrative, as it wouldn't mean that much to them. I'm sorry, Dave.
