How is it that eggs have been around forever, but we only now discovered that you can fry them in water?

When it's water it's *BOILING* not 'frying'.

That is an insane amount of vinegar for that paltry amount of water. That egg's gonna taste like pure vinegar.
I get so fucking ANGRY when I see people doing retarded shit with eggs. I can poach the FUCK out of some eggs, it's not that fucking hard, why do people take so many fucking God damn shortcuts when it comes to cooking FUCKING eggs?! They're just fucking eggs! Just do it right, it's not that fucking hard!

Bruh, they're just eggs. Worst case scenario is you somehow screw up so bad that you have to start over, in which case you're only out $0.08.

Eggs are good no matter how you cook them though, so it isn't really possible to cook them wrong.

What in the absolute horrendous fuck is that picture. It is absolutely possible to cook them wrong and fuck them up, and your picture is proof of that.

I tried poaching once and it turned into egg drop soup. After that I started poaching an egg in my ramen/chicken soup and it works every time. Not sure if it’s easier in broth or the first time was just a random screwup

Anonymous No.21491424 [Report]
>>21490075
NTA. No it is not.
Frying happens at a lot higher temperatures, causing some borderline magical effects that make the food taste different.

Eggs are 3.99 RMB ($0.56) for 500g, which is about 10 eggs.
Who the fuck is paying $0.50 for ONE egg? You're getting scammed.

Frying is a dry heat cooking method whereas simmering in water obviously is not dry.

Yes. It's not pretty. You really don't want an egg swimming in that much oil. Not at deep-frying temperatures at least. It's like an explosion which then becomes very crisp and everywhere.
You can shallow fry eggs in lower temp oil. Like that one disgusting video clip they always post here from 'Withnail and I' where someone with filthy hands is serving fried egg on cold white bread and they take a bite at the end. You know the one.
Dropping it in a big fryer that they do fries and fish and chips in would be a disgusting mess you wouldn't find appetizing.

That egg will not have any crunch. Only proper frying in a fat will make that happen.
