What's your opinion on eating food using your fingers instead of cutlery? Does it really make the food taste better?

'Better' is subjective, but I do enjoy holding a joint of meat in my hands and tearing meat off the bone with my teeth.

If it's something like a soup or curry and you have it with bread it can work. Most of the time there's really no reason not to use cutlery. Even chopsticks is better than eating with your hands

It's called fufu, it's a very doughy bread. Tear off a small piece then squeeze it into a firm ball in your palm, then scoop / dip it into the soup. It's spongy and pretty tasty, west african food is good.
With that said I love slopping gnarly things up with my hands. Eating like a pig is fun and I can't be convinced otherwise by some French fuck who sniffs his own farts at the dinner table

When I moved into my apartment, while boxes were yet to be unpacked, I got takeout kebab and rice. I had no cutlery, and I forgot to ask for plastic utensils. I saw no other option than to eat with my hands. It was pretty weird, and I've never done it again, but I cannot deny it's efficiency. No rice falling from my fork/chopsticks. Perfect bite every time. Were I Malaysian or something I could see myself looking down on westerners for being pussies.

Every couple of months I'll buy a rotisserie chicken and just tear into it with my bare hands, really get in there. Get a loaf of Italian to soak up the chicken juice.
