Anyone else here who doesn't care about this idiotic feud and likes most all pizza styles? Neapolitan, NY style, deep dish, etc. I'm just glad there's variety. FWIW, pizza is an American food that Italians try to take credit for because there was a flatbread with some tomato sauce smeared on it sold as "pizza" there: pure poverty slop. The more ambitious Italians mostly moved to the U.S. and thereafter created a lot of beloved foods. One can find Medieval flatbreads called "pizza" but the preexistence of the term doesn't mean the food we call Pizza is Italian — that's a shallow equivocation.

Mainstream american style gastronomy usually consists of starting with a base of cheap awful ingredients, and then adding a bunch of adjuncts to cover up the resulting faults, and then adding tertiary ingredients to cover up the faults from the adjuncts, and then adding a bunch of exotic chemical extracts to simulate the smell/taste/texture of food, until you have an ingredient list longer than the old testament, and if you find it unappetizing a bunch of ring wing reactionaries start screaming at you for being a 'chemophobe'. Though the shills are now trying to paint the right as defenders of purity as if the entire wild west american "supplement industry" wasn't a creation of the GOP.

This. I truly do like the variety out there. Sometimes nothing is delicious as a New Haven charred bits of coal crust with historic clam and potato toppings. Sometimes, the buttery crust and italian sausage flavored zesty tomato topping on a big thick Lou Malnati's followed by a dessert from a good bakery. Sometimes, nothing hits the spot more than a crisply fried edge of a Detroit crust with pillowy center. Sometimes I want a post-club 3AM salad topped pizza with a cuban coffee of all things.
It's all good, if it's actually good.
