you really can't eat fast food or any kind of prepared microwave meals and complain about microplastics. And as said above any time you eat out, your food is full of them because it was prepared using plastic cutting boards.
microplastics have been detected in remote mountain springs and in human placentas, you're not escaping them or making a difference. and most importantly, microplastics that are consumed mostly pass through the digestive tract and are excreted without issue. it's inhalation you should be worried about.

I made my own because the ones sold in stores arent the same aesthetically
I just cut a 1.5"x10' board
Cut it into 35 boards and boiled it to get the formaldehyde and sap out
Dehydrated it and added alot of coats of polyurethane

I've worked at James Beard award winning restaurants, and staged at two and three Michelin star restaurants. All of which exclusively used wood cutting boards. Your Sysco slop houses use plastic because it's cheap and easily replaced when the retarded junkies who work there fuck them up.

There's a wide variety for quality, I'd suggest something large but cheap as it sucks chopping on a smaller board but the quality doesn't improve the quality of usage past $50. Get yourself some food grade mineral oil to apply after washing with soap and water and you'll have a great board for a very long time, those really fancy boards aren't functionally better than a large cheapo board. Check your local restaurant suppliers, or you could always go to Ikea.

I always have wood in my home. I want the deep well when I'm carving a roast, so it doesn't just migrate to my countertops. I have wooden boards for cheese boards/charcuterie where the cutting board is actually used in service.
I use my thinner flexible plastic boards for most prep, however. I put most of them in my dishwasher too.
