Too many things on the menu (pizza, buffet)
Same menu every day, all year (that burger/soup is 2 weeks old bro)
A menu that's all over the place (just do 1 thing good)
People queueing when the doors open (usually with an instagram smile)
An empty restaurant/1 table occupied (it's the owners)
Fad diets, ingredients or cuisines (gin tonic, pata negra, avocado, Mexican today, gone tomorrow)
Gluten-free claims (you need separate production line for that)
Unkempt front of the house
A superficial drinks list (all sorts of irrelevant babble usually about g&t, cocktails, tea, Belgian beer or Champagne. It's going to be shit, and it's going to be expensive - just mike the food).
Touch screens, tablets and qr codes. The front of the house needs to tell you what's on the menu. Not to inform you, but to show you that they know what they're doing. Never allow a moron to handle your food.
