Recipes for the cheap & lazy
I recently moved out of my moms house and I’ve been eating like shit with no one to cook for me. Every day for breakfast I have a mixture of oats, peanut butter, and protein powder; for lunch I have homemade seitan and boiled beans; for dinner I have two cups of spaghetti and some pea protein isolate. I prepare everything (mix together oatslop, boil beans, make seitan) once a week and then just keep it in the fridge. I aim for 30g protein per meal and my budget per meal is $1. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make this stuff taste better without extra money or effort? Also looking for ideas on how to replace plant based protein powders with actual food, now that they’re known to be contaminated with lead…
Picrel is lunch.

Lol.

Why the fuck were you using plant based protein instead of superior whey in the first place?
Animal protein (especially whey) is not only higher quality, but more digestible and bioavailable.

Because plant based is cheaper

It’s perfectly effective as long as you make sure it’s complete. I’ve been mixing pea and rice protein for this reason

I just told you, it's NOT effective because it is not as DIGESTIBLE or BIOAVAILABLE.
You understand this, no?

Bbc protein is even better than animal protein. Bbc sauce is absolutely fucking packed with easily digestible high quality protein. Plus bbc sauce is quite tasty. It has an almondy flavor. AND the best part is obtaining the bbc sauce.

30g protein for $1 is going to be difficult unless you have a supplier for cheap milk or something, i dont think you can hit that with all of the manufacturing that has to go on to get something like plant protein isolates

I understand but the difference is slight and the cost savings more than make up for it.
>>21665407 I’ve found pea, rice, and soy protein powders that hit and even exceed my cost criteria, but I’m going to stop using them because lead

it being not as DIGESTIBLE or as BIOAVAILABLE as animal based powders does NOT mean it's not plenty of both and effective at what it does

>going to stop using them because lead
this has been debunked

how would that even be possible? you're basically asking to make it taste better without changing anything.
cinnamon and raisins for the oats, hot sauce or salsa or something like that for the beans and seitan, cheese for the spaghetti unless you're vegan in which case idk because pasta without cheese always sucks

I do eat fruits occasionally, I just didn’t feel the need to mention that because there’s no cooking involved. I also have a garden with kale. Oh and I usually put marinara sauce and Chinese chilies in the spaghetti so I think my c levels are fine
