I actually thought the animation for Kratos vs. Asura was good. I know a lot of people had problems with it, but I thought it was great.

Even if you disagree about Asura losing, given the power gap between the two it makes sense for Kratos to take little damage. It also put Kratos in some kind of a mentor or elder role to Asura, and let Kratos show how far he had come by defeating someone who had been down the same path as him. He wasn't just fighting Asura, he was TEACHING Asura. And I think that's very heartwarming in a way. That Kratos would take the lessons he learned and help someone who was just like him.

If this weren't a Death Battle I'm sure they would have ended cordially and taught each other well. The alternate ending is weird, even if heartwarming in its own way. It was nice to see Kratos reunite with his daughter, but it feels weird to have him just stand there and take that punch.

I haven't played Asura's game though (but after watching this fight I think I might watch a playthrough!) so I might be missing stuff but as a big GoW fan I thought they did Kratos justice and from what I saw they treated Asura with the utmost respect. What character has ever gotten an alternate ending made just for them?

In terms of hax, I felt Star didn’t really have much besides transmutation and minor mental control. Not to mention, her spells have always been shown to be blockable, which isn’t really the best idea in terms of fighting a dude whose power is making barriers

In terms of speed, Star and Stevej were well… the same as not really special even amongst humans. But to Lex Steven’s ability to speed up his perception made blitzing possible. Add in the fact that Star can’t heal herself while Steven can just made it seem like he could have just bludgeoned her to death since in terms of stamina, Steven had the advantage.

Actually, it’s said that you CAN… if you destroy them all at once. But Kaiba’s Blue Eyes didn’t have the AOE for it so whenever he destroyed a chunk, another chunk would replace it. But Pikachu almost certainly does since the Kuriboh can’t expand to the entire island of Duelist Kingdom.

Both are pilots, with Kirby pretty much doing pod racing.
Both fight against injustice in a cosmic scale. Kirby fights off dedede, meta knight invading dreamland, several hiveminds and dark gods while Luke obviously fights enslavers, hiveminds, evil kings, gives Palpatine a perma death after a 1v1 duel, etc.

Both are known for turning their foes into allies. Luke sees the good in his dad, several imperial officers, Mara Jade and never gives up on Darth Caedus (legends Kylo) until the very end.
While duh, Kirby converts Adeline, Meta Kngiht, Dedede, the robot lady, crown guy from return to dream land and several others into friends when he could have just killed them.

The issue that a lot of the high power interpretations of superheroes push them into positions where their capacity to do something vs their moral drive to do something come into conflict.
Of course there are some things like Supervillains that are going to require a lot more attention and power to stop and thereby leading to the loss of life. But things like natural disasters and petty crime perpetrated against innocents should be things of the past.
Goku isn't a more virtuous character for not being an active hero, but his nature as a reactor to things rather than a driver for things makes it a lot easier to justify Goku being strong within his narrative.

Goku is the one of the best inspirational hero in fiction.

Goku represents the best of mankind in one character.
A man that is not perfect in any way nor destined to anything special, but has a desire to improve himself while doing what he loves.

Goku was born as nothing more than a low class baby with no one expecting him to grow to be a decent warrior or be able to do much at all.
Yet he did not care about such expectations nor what anyone could say about him, and focused on his love for martial arts alongside his grandpa.

Unlike Vegeta, he is beyond being prideful and knows that he is below others, humbly yet excitingly accepting to learn from masters and friends to become better. To the point most of his techniques are borrowed from his friends.

He loves his family and friends a lot to the point he sacrificed himself twice over for their safety, while he does not have a hero complex that makes him think he is forced to police the entire world, is seen to care for life itself and see those that abuse their powers over innocents as lowlifes he must confront not to satisfy some heroic complex, but to guarantee his family and friends's safety.

He is the ultimate hero of self improvement, humility and how being imperfect is a blessing that allows you to be better by your own effort. About focusing on your dreams and aspirations and not caring about what others expect of you nor being stuck forever thinking on what you lack.

You weren't born into royalty, riches or being born with powers?
Who cares. You are you, and you can be much, much greater than you think you can be and others think you will be.
And by working on yourself and in your goals, you are helping others become the best versions of themselves as well.

To address one thing unrelated that a lot of people get annoyed about, Goku's backstory was indeed retconned away from hitting his head as a baby to be a good person...
However, that too was a retcon because Roshi is the one to say it even though he wasn't aware of Grandpa Gohan taking in a child until after Gohan had already died and Goku met Roshi.
I'm not saying you aren't allowed to be annoyed about Minus and Broly changing Goku from being shipped to Earth to destroy it and instead just to escape Planet Vegeta, but it is important to recognize that it isn't like Goku always had that backstory either.
Toyotaro's efforts with the Granolah Saga were meant to try and marry the two interpretations into one, with Goku still hitting his head but rather losing the memory of his parents and heritage instead of his entire personality.

Past that, we don't really have any specific numbers within the original source material. If you want to stretch things a bit, then we can say that Goku from his fight with Ginyu (who estimated Goku's power level to be ~60000) could have used Kaio-Ken x20 to reach 1,200,000.
