Even if you're not into gay stuff, that's not true when Fizz and Ozzie exist. In fact, I believe they were introduced to give us insight into more healthy relationships.

They're already that, somewhat. That's why I said before that they're just sappy romance disguised as a healthy relationship, when in fact their relationship is not that healthy.
>Codependency
Moxxie practically can't live without Millie, and this is hinted to us as early as S1E6, "Truth Seekers." Millie is also very possessive of Moxxie. I believe this stems from their self-esteem issues.
>Communication issues
Millie would rather comfort Moxxie than tell him harsh truths that would compromise their relationship. "Just stick with what you're good at." And Moxxie would rather put Millie's feelings above his own, so he just doesn't tell her how he really feels about things most of the time because he believes his feelings aren't that important compared to how Millie feels. Moxxie even says to Crimson that he doesn't deserve a wife like Millie.
>Trust issues
Millie doesn't actually trust Moxxie that much. Pic related. And in Ghostfuckers she even tells Loona to babysit Moxxie. Granted, a lot of that distrust is justified since Moxxie fucks up all the time. These trust issues might play into a future abortion plot, since she'd rather tell Sallie May about her pregnancy first, then she comes to Moxxie, tells him that she loves him unprompted, and looks away with what seems to be a feeling of guilt.
>Millie enabling Moxxie's flaws
Continuing with the "just stick with what you're good at" stuff, Millie doesn't actually encourage Moxxie to grow as a person and enables his flaws. This is why I believe that they weren't acting out of character in Unhappy Campers.
I personally believe M&M are supposed to be a deconstruction of romance tropes. Notice how they started out being the perfect couple, but then their flaws were being gradually exposed to us.
