I'm a Godzilla nerd so allow me to explain. Yeah, Hedorah is on a whole other level when it came to acidic level. In it's movie against Godzilla, the g-man was literally getting his ass handed to him in the most extreme way. Because Hedorah is made out of pollution, G-man atomic breath had no effect. Godzilla literally punch Hedorah and because it's living sludge, his fist went inside of Hedorah and came out as a skeleton. Godzilla even lost his left eye to smog monster. Humans can't be anywhere near the smog monster because the gas it produce is so acidic, it's melt every human down to bones. The issue however with this is that Hedorah is actually weak to dehydration, so flames and electricity. Hedorah should have destroy both Godzilla AND Hulk.

I actually thought the animation for Wil E vs. Tom was good. I know a lot of people had problems with it, but I thought it was great.

Even if you disagree about Tom losing, given the power gap between the two it makes sense for Wil E to take little damage. It also put Wil E in some kind of a mentor or elder role to Tom, and let Wil E show how far he had come by defeating someone who had been down the same path as him. He wasn't just fighting Tom, he was TEACHING Tom. And I think that's very heartwarming in a way. That Wil E would take the lessons he learned and help someone who was just like him.

If this weren't a Death Battle I'm sure they would have ended cordially and taught each other well. The alternate ending is weird, even if heartwarming in its own way. It was nice to see Tom reunite with his Mammy two shoes, but it feels weird to have him just stand there and take that punch.

The source of this is basically entirely just Spacegodzilla's origin story involving Godzilla cells passing through a black hole and out of a white hole, being exposed to supernovae, and then mutating.

What's the problem, you ask?

Black holes in real life are not portals. But we didn't know this in the 90s, black holes were enigmas. One of the leading theories about black holes was that they were portals terminating in a white hole- in other words, a cosmic drain that sucked shit up and spat it out in some distant corner of space.

No, it does not. A black hole/white hole combo is nowhere near as dangerous as an actual black hole with near infinite density. It's something an astronaut in a space suit could reasonably survive, at least in fiction.

No, that's never stated. They were exposed to supernova radiation. A plant is exposed to the sun's light, but it's not star level. If you want further proof, look at his actual fights with other Kaiju. Godzilla's beam takes a little bit of time to pierce one skyscraper. He gets regularly knocked out by falling buildings. Godzilla frequently shows pain from missiles and bombs, and canonically bleeds from missiles in the first movie.

Yes, he has an insane regenerative factor, and humans can't really kill Godzilla. But a nuke will burn and injure him, and his beams are not destroying cities or planets.
