I didn't watch the latest preview because I guess I partially want to save it for the premiere and partially I'm just not super optimistic, but re: the comments about Dale's voice: doesn't surprise me if Hardwick's performance sounds off in the handful of episodes he actually recorded because it was sort of inconsistent within the original show too. Obviously it changed a lot from the beginning of the series to the end, but I also remember a few years back when he'd do the voice on his youtube channel it didn't exactly sound like the show either, like he'd kind of forgotten how he did the voice (understandable since it'd been years since the show ended by that point).

For what it's worth Kahn's VA already said years ago, possibly before the reboot was announced "yeah I don't think it's PC for me to play this character anymore" (rather than him wanting to keep the role but getting replaced). Yeah this is disappointing. I totally agreed with the original show keeping Bill miserable for the whole run because it worked best for the comedy/dynamics of the show at the time. Also I always thought Laoma was a shitty character/episode despite seemingly everyone else being into the idea of them staying together, that episode feels more like a weird, abandoned attempt at a spinoff than anything.

But I think the new show was an opportunity to do something completely different with Bill instead of more of the same, and make it feel plausible too because of the long timeskip accounting for some offscreen character changes.
