A lot of the establishment BEFORE 2016 were actually Trumpers. Biden did so poorly cleaning up his mess, that people really were thinking that "oh it wasn't so bad" under Trump (or any republican). The way Paramount threw all it's fact checkers under the bus after he won 2024 says all you need to know about how the establishment LOVES him and his choas does wonders for their ratings.
It was easy to shut down Kathy Griffith because she was already on the fringe of the hollywood scene, and doing a shock bit like the bloody trump face was enough to make other comedians too scared to speak up for 20 years.
It felt like you sort of had to play it safe because most people assumed Hilary would make it and the maga brains (like most people in here) have the ability to ruin someone's simple life with stalking and harassment. Really do look at any pre-covid humor trying to take down Trump and how tame it really is. It doesn't actually say terrible things about him or address the policies he supports...
This time feels different because everyone is fucking sick of this, so now people are needing it said without a filter... plus the episode was mostly to shit on Paramout, and small dick trump was just a bait.
