it's less than one million apart domestically even despite being out one week less, by the time both end, it will be on top domestically.
Of the difference between them internationally, it got a quarter of that from China alone and it's still going to fail in comparison to all the other movies - six months ago, you queens were going on and on about how the other Jurassic movies had all made a billion and it would eat Superman (and/or FF) for lunch, take out China and compare how badly it did to the rest of the franchise, and it's a huge loss.

True.
But Man of Steel released back when the Chinese flocked to see Hollywood spectacles, before streaming ate the movie theater's lunch, before the post-COVID inflation. and back before superhero fatigue.
Man of Steel was a disappointment when it came out because it had everything going for it, but still underperformed.

Superman 2025 didn't soar up, up, and away, but in a time where superhero films are on the downswing it did pretty well with good word of mouth.

This. Nothing is getting pre-covid numbers again aside from Avatar, some Disney movies like live-action Stitch (somehow), and maybe big Avengers-style teamups.

People only ever look at shit in a vacuum. All things said and done, Superman 2025 will probably finish at something like $600M, which not only isn't too far behind MoS but is also really good when you consider everything it had going against it.

I know I'm being baited but Deadpool and Wolverine brought in two of the most popular Marvel characters ever, both played by two actors who arguably embody the role, while also bringing in a bunch of beloved Marvel characters trapped under other studios, like Dafne Keen's X-23 and Wesley Snipes' Blade. It even gave us Channing Tatum's Gambit finally and teased Doomsday/Secret Wars. Plus it was overall a pretty decent movie too. No real secret why it did as well as it did.

MoS made an additional approximate $30M between it's 3rd weekend and it's last day of theatrical release; Superman should make more, and as of today, it's only $117M from topping the WW gross of MoS.

Yes, the international for MoS was far better but more than half of the current difference is China, which if you release MoS today, it also wouldn't get.

Do better.
Try harder - don't just repeat cult talking points.
You've been doing THAT since before the movie opened and, in every respect, all you've accomplished is to end up being wrong.

Man, this movie was fucking weird for me. I didn't like that the entire movie he was simping over his alien parents and ignoring his real parents. Superman has been about the morality and ideals of being raised a midwestern farm boy for a long time. Idk man maybe I just wanted more scenes of his early years. Maybe not an origin story, but something that shows how he got there. It felt kind disjointed, maybe for the sake of the payoff at the end, where he replaced the videos of his alien parents with his Earth ones?

The STAS versions - for all of those characters, so including Batgod, Martian Manhunter, Flash, and the rest, and for the DCU as a whole, is a warped view since they couldn't show blood.

I think a lot of what put people off when the footage was first released was the blood and then when they released the Fortress footage and showed the screaming with the solar rays.

Likewise, with this and other movies, while STAS and BTAS and JL/JLU all showed Metropolis or Gotham or Earth or elsewhere being endangered or even destroyed, you didn't see people die in that destruction. When minions and henchmen were taken down, you didn't wonder if their necks were broken and they had died, etc.

But yeah, you are right. It's also likely people false flagging and arguing in bad faith and just using that as an excuse when they are REE REE Snyder Cultists or something similar.

Assertions are different that assumptions, son.
That's why there are two words.
They are not, in point of fact, interchangeable.
No cape movie in the past five years has done comparable number to what ANY cape movie did pre-Lock Down, therefore it's a safe assertion to make that ANY cape movie will not make comparable numbers.
It's an assertion.
An assumption is what you are implying I made.

It's nice that a Superman movie is accessible to kindhearted elders again. I'm a millennial and it reminds me of the superhero movies I grew up peacefully watching on network television with my mom. That's a lame excuse. Superman's branding wasn't damaged as a whole, people just lost faith in the Snyder movies once MoS already left people sour and fatigued. Then BvS killed any remaining hype for both Batman and Superman within that universe. The only and I mean only saving grace was Wonder Woman being really hot and not yet at that time cancelled for her wooden acting and being an idf soldier irl.
>People argue and talk about it constantly, and several other movies taking visual ques and lines straight from it.
>”Zero cultural impact”
Yeah, its impact is how hated it was. Even if 2025 Superman doesn't make as much money it is successfully generating hope and hype for the future. What Gunn's doing right now, is reestablishing trust between fans of Superman and DC films going forward, which he has done successfully.

Maybe the PROBLEM was Warner took advantage of Snyder’s daughter’s death to fire him, replace him with Joss Whedon to chop apart his Justice League movie, and then retroactively try to ‘course correct’ for the following 9 years after they fired Snyder from his own movie.

>It’s IMPACT is how HATED it was!
You claim it has no impact, just to shift the goalpost that it DOES have impact, but not the one you wanted. If it was so despised, then other filmmakers wouldn’t be referencing shots and moments from it, and people still continue to discuss and talk about it.

>Gunn is reestalishing trust!
1: Rotten Tomato scores don’t pay bills. Money does, which Snyder’s movies made. When he got fired and Hamada took over, the flops started rolling in.
You say that like Warner isn’t just going to fuck Gunn over the second it benefits them in the short term.
>Fucked Donner over
>Fucked Burton over
>Fucked Schumacher over
>Fucked Snyder over
Nolan is the ONLY filmmaker to work on DC that Warner didn’t fuck over.
Gunn’s Suicide Squad was an utter flop. Don’t even blame Kung-Flu because Dune, Mortal Kombat and Godzilla v Kong were perfectly profitable under the same restraints TSS was.
Creature Commandos got such poor viewership that they had to upload the first few episodes of it onto YouTube for free.
Now they spent some 500 million on a new DC Movie universe, and it’s barely even going to make even, if that.
Nobody I know is interested in Supergirl at all, Clayface’s success depends entirely on how badly they botched the original scriptwriter’s screenplay.
