Asura killed a healthy Chak because he got way too angry for Chak to handle. Hot take: Death Battle can't make a good JJK fight because they don't understand the style of the series.
This is obvious on Makima vs Gojo but it also applies to Mahito vs Shigaraki.
In JJK exposition isn't only a tool to make the readers understand what's happening in the fight, the narrator itself is part of the flow of the fight.
Some characters owe their whole styles to the exposition that comes with their techniques.
Sukuna's Domain Expansion wouldn't be half as impactful without a calm slow voice taking it's time to explain in detail what's about to happen, Hakari's best moment comes from the narrator saying stuff we already know and culminating with the famous "Always bet on Hakari" speech.
Characters like Mahito and Yuji dictate the pace of a fight by analysing and being introspective during the whole thing, sometimes even pausing the action to showcase more exposition about their thought process.
THAT is what makes JJK fights recognizable, if you just make the characters fight without breaks or change of pacing like Dragon Ball characters it just feels hollow, sometimes you might save it with fancy animation (Mahito Vs Shigaraki) but when you don't have that luxury you ended up with a messy fight that doesn't feel like it gets the characters

Want to know why Gojo feels like a retard in the episode he won? Because DB got the character and used his abilities in the most basic and boring way possible.
Besides his domain and neutral limitless gojo has: pushing attack, pulling attack, and Big Boom attack. It's really simple when you think about it.
The key is that Gojo uses these abilities as TOOLS to fight, not skills to spam on cooldown like a LoL character, and DB can't understand this.
