I think things are going to improve for after last episode. Jax is an NPC. He's the only one Caine can influence the mind and state of being of so far. He managed to turn him vegan and force feed him information in a way that confused even him. That means to me that either A) Jax is different from the rest of the cast, perhaps his willingness to conform to the circus and to the "archetype" is doing something to him more insidious than he thinks, or maybe he's not quite human. Or B) It could just be Caine ramping shit up and showing everyone he CAN affect them and when he crashes out we'll see a lot more of that. Only time will tell I guess.
