As much as I love to rag on Ben and will continue to do so until I get bored, it's more a case of trying to make a 3D model out of something that was meant to work as a 2D character and nothing else. Trying to make on-model 3D versions of Wattersons is like trying to make a 3D render of Peppa Pig.

Sure, there are shows that work well in either medium, but only because their creators planned ahead for it to happen and used shapes that are better suited for it than Gumball's. The Amazing Digital Circus relies chiefly on spheroids as head shapes. Murder Drones has more complexity to those, but still relies on stuff that was already tested with stuff like Sonic the hedgehog. This isn't the case with Wattersons and it isn't a bad thing, as show has plenty of 3D characters for that purpose.

Damn, maybe I should become a Zooblefag - because it's obvious they are one and the same and, no matter what future project Goose cooks up after kicking TADC to the curb, there will be a Zooble-like character there.
