I'm so sick of this, someone needs to call these people out. They're literally just making this crap up. No, really. They are LYING! They don't actually feel this way.

And newsflash, Korea MAKES ANIMATED MOVIES. You can see hundreds of movies with Korean cuisine animated.

And they DIDN'T EVEN EAT KOREAN FOOD! These second generation immigrants are comletely divorced from their culture and unironically embrace a form of pan-Asianism that they used to shame us for. It's like saying Samurais know Kung Fu. It had:
> Kimbap (Sushi. They speak a different language so they have their own term, but it's sushi i.e. Japanese.)
> Oden (Japanese fish skewer soup. They eat it, but it's Japanese.)
> Instant Ramen (Japanese)
> Peperro (Pokki. It's Japanese)
> Boba Tea (Thai)

Like, if they wanted to make it "Korean" they could've eaten Tteokbokki, Bibimbap, Stone soup (it's an umbrella term they just serve lots of different soups in a stone bowl that keeps it hot. Sort of the concept of a fajita plate but with soups), Oxtail, KIMCHI, Bulgogi, Dough soup, Japchae, there are lots of things. But those wouldn't have been as MARKETABLE as doing the popular ones from Japan that kids see in anime. Ok, fine. Fair. I get that. But if you're going to do that I'm not sitting here and listening to this disingenuous chick lie and act like this was HER CULCHA!!!

to be fair, the US basically started the ''revisionism is okay if you have victim status'' trend
they were using a Japanese term for kimbap until their govt told them not to in the mid 1990s. now it's ''inappropriate'' call it sushi. it's over.

NTA but it's nationalism. For many Koreans, claiming or implying that those aren't just Japanese means something.
They would be so fucking mad like you wouldn't believe if Japan or China did the same kind of shit to Korea, but it's kinda okay to do that to Japan.
