Meanwhile, Seiya remained a bronze fighter for many years, jobbing to every retarded he faced and only winning by divine intervention, archived similar power to the strongest saints but only momentarily. Later archived god tier armor with the blood of Athena, yet still unable to face actual gods of the Olympus. Got fucking crippled by Hades, then Apolo/Helios came, stole his slutty goddess Athena, whom Seiya simped so hard for all life, them rewrote all the timeline to make Seiya and Athena regular humans. With some time travel mess that happened a bit before that.
Dragon Ball archived global success and became one of Japan's highest grossing IPs while Saint Seiya felt so hard into relevancy almost everyone, even in Latam, just remember it's first Sanctuary Arc. Truth so hard that in every crossover thing, they only add Seiya and co. from that arc.

The issue is that the Silver Eyes are important and Ruby's big climactic final powerup, but it's poorly elaborated on to the point it's unclear if it would even do anything to Maka, so you have to argue about if Grimm are similar enough to Witches/Black Blood they could activate, and then if that would even be enough because of Soul Adagio.

They'll probably feature the Silver Eyes prominently just so they can do a Silver Eyes vs Black Blood light vs dark visual setpiece for the climax of the fight and to give Ruby something to match Maka's dress.

I don't know if Soul's suit is a full 3D model or a 2D rig with 3D hands, his face and hair looks like it's drawn.
It would make more sense because between Maka and Soul's normal outfit that's already two custom 3D models that need to be made, and possibly even three if Maka's final form is included in the fight (which seems likely). Soul and the piano don't need much animation so it makes sense to just make him 2D for those scenes.

I actually thought the animation for Kratos vs. Asura was good. I know a lot of people had problems with it, but I thought it was great.

Even if you disagree about Asura losing, given the power gap between the two it makes sense for Kratos to take little damage. It also put Kratos in some kind of a mentor or elder role to Asura, and let Kratos show how far he had come by defeating someone who had been down the same path as him. He wasn't just fighting Asura, he was TEACHING Asura. And I think that's very heartwarming in a way. That Kratos would take the lessons he learned and help someone who was just like him.

If this weren't a Death Battle I'm sure they would have ended cordially and taught each other well. The alternate ending is weird, even if heartwarming in its own way. It was nice to see Kratos reunite with his daughter, but it feels weird to have him just stand there and take that punch.

I haven't played Asura's game though (but after watching this fight I think I might watch a playthrough!) so I might be missing stuff but as a big GoW fan I thought they did Kratos justice and from what I saw they treated Asura with the utmost respect.
