Anyone that was a fan of the original show knows about Fionna & Cake and will be watching season 2 when it premieres. Making more AT is understandable and inevitable. What isn't is doing more of Fionna and Cake. The first season tied things up pretty nicely, and I personally don't care much about them and want the focus on other things.
Would've been better to just make a Huntress focused series.

I like the idea of exploring HW being so restrictive on her relationship with Finn because, in the show, they were explicitly vague on it due to both characters being wanderers who didn’t want to tie themselves down. That’s the reason they didn’t date at first, so it would be good to see them both get out of this “kinda” relationship and truly commit to it.
Though it is Adventure Time, they can always throw a curveball and change it completely to something else. Either they break up or some other weird shit happens that symbolizes self-growth or whatever. But last season wasn’t that crazy with the character arcs for Simon and Fionna, it was pretty much what we expected, so heres hoping they keep it simple this time around too.

Jesus Christ how far they've fallen from the original plan of this show of Finn and Jake going on adventures. This is like visual vomit in terms of story telling and characters. Who the fuck is this for?

So something really noticeable about the trailer was the prominence of fanservice-y elements. Tons of returning characters and whatnot. Normally, I'd be skeptical abut that, but F&C seems to exist primarily because the writers still have a bunch of ideas for all this lore, so I look forward to seeing what the Cosmic Owl is doing here.

Also, aside from just HW, it seems like this season will have a lot of focus on the main universe. We will likely have less universe hopping this time, and most of it will be about more direct follow up to the original show.

Honestly I think being forced to let go of the show’s format was for the best.
