I guess the idea of internet things dramatically changing behaviours and relationships has been a throughline in this season. In episode 4 there was the labubu ritual meme. In episode 5 there was the online betting. Episode 2 had internet content creators (Kirk) and Episode 3 had Randy rely on ai assistants.
Maybe this is a rather trivial pattern though. It'I find it plausible that enough modern 'conflicts' are internet related that this pattern inevitably appears.
You could take Thiel's (yet) unsuccessful investigation as a statement that mass surveillance is ineffective at tackling organised and unorganised crime .

Yeah they very briefly reference it in that way, but someone like myself went the whole episode never actually getting the 6/7 meme at its core, especially because I have no real context. Compare that to the labubu episode, which was much more focused on one thing primarily (Butters trying to get that redhead through the power of labubu hoarding). I came away from that with a much better understanding of labubu's as a meme despite not having known a thing about them prior. On the other hand, I can only guess that 6/7 is something kids laugh about for unclear reasons.
