Olan deserves an a-log, Final Space was one of the most insufferable overrated pieces of shit I've ever witnessed, the fact that he became a sort of de facto face of indie animation really shows how creatively bankrupt the west is. It's not that indie animation is hard to get into, the simple fact is these people don't have good ideas and cannot for the fucking life of them just accept that. People point at that Pibby guy like his situation is uniquely embarrassing when the truth is that's what all these guys are like. Creative dead ends who desperately want to be the next pendleton ward or rebecca sugar without having even a fraction of the creative spark those two had. The ice cold hard truth is this: Most people's "million dollar ideas" fucking suck and no one ends up caring in the end, point blank period. Just look at /hyw/ most of them will never ever make it not because they're bad at drawing despite them thinking it's the one and only reason for their lack of success, it's because their ideas and concepts on a foundational level are dull, boring, interesting only to them, and are often so aesthetically embarrassing and uncool, the average person recoils from them after only a few pages.
TL;DR most people are untalented, have no taste, and are simply not cut out to be independent artists leading an entire project
