Reading up on it in a kind of surface level way, the Timber Wolf is way heavier and larger. This also by all means it's a larger target, which poses the question of whether the Scopedog pilot is good enough to avoid the fuck ton of weapons the Timber Wolf carries at all times.
In Votoms, Chirico is literally better than the enhanced soldiers at their own game due to spoilers, even just using a normal Scopedog, but it's pretty clear that he needs be creative or fuck around in tough situations. There's one bonus with the Scopedog and it's that it's mobility is ridiculous and depending on the fit, it can also fly. It also doesn't have a glass cockpit.
Basically, as someone who's pretty unfamiliar with BattleTech, the Timber Wolf would probably kill any regular Scopedog pilot on a random field but if you stuck them in Woodo or a city then the Scopedog would probably just run circles around the thing and hide in buildings until it's dealt enough damage for a mission kill. So, pretty dependent on where it happens.
