I have a Google Pixel 6 with GrapheneOS, and I plan on replacing the battery in it. I am going to perform a backup of the data just in case. I have a 3D printer bed I could use to heat up the screen for removal, along with a hot air rework station. Part of the screen is already separated due to the battery. I have special thin metal tool for prying off the battery, along with a few plastic doritos like the one in this video.

For the 3D printer bed, what should the temperature be? Would it be better if I used the hot air rework station? What temperature should I use for that if so?

What sort of adhesive tape should I get, and would any of you anons recommend using glue instead, and if so, which glue?

>all that mental gymnastics just to replace a fucking phone battery
i shit you not, i've seen a pajeet repair shop video on tiktok and he just used a fucking knife and some alcohol in a plastic bottle as lube for prying. and the crazy part is, he did it so effortlessly and precisely, while not causing any damage to the phone. and then he just used an UHU looking glue to seal it up. all it takes is just a few minutes.

and yet, i bet s o i boys like you, even with all the tools and planning at your disposal, would still have a chance of fucking up the repair.

>For the 3D printer bed, what should the temperature be?
100°C for 2-3 minutes is what I usually use
put a thin cloth between the phone and the bed to prevent scratches and whatnot
>Would it be better if I used the hot air rework station?
no, unless your 3D printer bed is unreliable and uneven heating
>What temperature should I use for that if so?
400°C works for me, keep at 10 cm of the screen and keep out to not burn your hands or anything around the phone

I heat it to around 90C on a heat plate. If part of the screen is already separated you can just use a plastic card or something thin with some alcohol.

What kind of alcohol? Should I get a dropper? Could I use acetone in some cases?

Repair retard here from /g/ who did this for a living for a bit. Be conservative with whatever liquid solvent you use as phones are the pickiest bitches and some are worse than others and pixels are definintly in the worse category in my opinion.

Update. I replaced the battery successfully, but I damaged the screen in the process. I couldn't figure out how to get the heated bed to start working, and although I did have another option, I was too impatient, determined that part of the screen is already separating due to the battery, and pried off the rest of the screen. I am waiting for the new screen to be delivered.
