>Cardio just automatically feels good to do and I look forward to it
>Absolutely loathe any strength program and find it impossible to stick to
Can someone help explain this to me?

I've enjoyed all types of cardio from low-intensity hiking to full HIIT cycling..
I've tried a lot of strength training (calisthenics, barbell, kettlebell) and just can't seem to enjoy them at all.

You know you can just do metabolic conditioning right? Low weight/high rep circuit training. Feels like cardio moves like strength. You won't gain as fast obviously but it has its own perks. Better for tendons, better for fat loss, cranks mitochondrial biogenesis through the roof. Technically it's like the safest and healthiest form of lifting there is... But you will be ridiculed as a faggot, as you can already see.

>cardio
>HR builds up gradually even in HIIT
>Can keep pushing yourself with minimal physical risk
>"Runner High" feels good no matter what

>Strength
>HR shoots up from resting to max during efforts then back down
>Pushing past your limits can and often does lead to physical injury
>So once there's no "gas in the tank" you have to stop
>Often don't even feel tired after but my muscles refuse to move any weights so there's little feeling of accomplishment
Strength training just feels like a chore to me and I can't figure out how to get myself to like it like most people seem to.
Like, I gotta do it I know just cardio is straight up unhealthy.

It can be but doesn't have to be. It can any low weight/high rep strength training so long as you're consistently giving yourself little to no rest and moving as fast as possible between lifts so your heart rate doesnt drop much. Think like century sets on traditional lifts with no rest at all.

you never pushed hard. I remember pushing until my heart started beating all funky and collapsing in a chair and I promise you I felt unmistakably drugged like I had just snorted ketamine, and I'm saying this as something that has snorted ketamine. total fucking blanket of warm numbness
that said, that's not what people usually refer to, they just mean the average amount of dopamine you get after running, and once again, if you've never had that you've definitely just never really pushed yourself, it's a basic biological function, obviously it doesn't stop running from being in-the-moment somewhat painful, your body doesn't want you to push yourself if you don't have to.

I'm the same way, OP. I could bench my bodyweight (135lbs) on the first day, but I didn't care about it.

Now I'm back down to 125lbs (20 BMI), exclusively doing running. My resting heart rate is 45, I feel great, and I'll probably live until I'm 90.

Running is the healthiest exercise in the world, so I feel blessed that I actually enjoy doing it.

Cardio is good but you need strength training to maintain bine density and muscle.

Cardio protects your CVS at the cost of your muscles and bones.
Strength protects your muscles, ligaments and bone density.

It sounds like you aren't actually following any programs, or at least you don't understand them. Muscular failure is a good thing, and you need significant amounts of rest in between sets.

Starting Strength, Stronglifts 5x5 and Greyskull LP aren't memes, they're actually good. They all have books, websites and/or videos explaining what you're meant to be doing and why. So don't just look at picrel (which is good) and assume it's all you need.

It is a chore, and you don't if you want to stay injury free into your 30's. Get a kettlebell, do some snatches, presses, swings, pullups, goblet squat and you're good.
